When we decided to create our high-end bed linen collection, wax naturally stood out as the obvious choice: combining the technical excellence of cotton with the aesthetic strength of African patterns. EXCEPTIONAL COTTON THAT STANDS THE TEST OF TIME

Authentic wax is made from 100% premium-quality cotton, woven according to strict standards. Contrary to common belief, it is not a stiff fabric : it has a structured feel that becomes beautifully softer with every wash, while maintaining its brilliance.

Legendary durability: The colours, fixed using the ancestral wax-resist dyeing process, withstand dozens of washes without fading or bleeding. A timeless investment and an exceptional gift for wedding and birthday.

PRACTICAL & REVERSIBLE

Authentic classic wax is printed on both sides, with almost identical colour intensity on each face. However, we offer different finishes depending on the collection.

Care is simple: machine wash at 40°C, ironing optional. Wax improves with time, becoming softer while preserving its structure and colours.

THE FABRIC OF KINGS ENTERS YOUR INTERIOR...

If wax is renowned for its bold colours, bazin embodies nobility, texture and light. Often referred to as “The Fabric of Kings” in West Africa, this exceptional textile offers a sophisticated counterpoint to graphic prints.

Contrary to popular belief, the origins of bazin are mixed. Originally woven in Europe (the term comes from the Italian bambagia), it is in Africa and particularly in Mali that it gained its true prestige. This is where white damask comes to life, transformed by the expert hands of artisan dyers who give it its deep colours and unique soul.

In our Wax'Home Prestige bed linen and cushion collections, we have chosen bazin for its precious quality. Used in solid or faux-solid tones, it soothes the eye and tempers the energy of wax without ever losing its elegance. It is the perfect balance between character and serenity.

A UNIQUE TEXTURE: A SENSORIAL EXPERIENCE

What surprises most about bazin riche is its texture. Unlike classic cotton, it offers a satin, glazed and luminous finish. This unique hand-feel is not accidental, but the result of rigorous artisanal craftsmanship:

Damask weaving : The fabric features tone-on-tone woven patterns (geometric or floral) that catch the light and create subtle relief.
The “beating” process : After artisanal dyeing, the fabric is starched and then manually beaten using heavy wooden mallets. This step compresses the fibre, giving it its characteristic stiffness and its almost metallic shine.

A LIVING FABRIC: YOU CHOOSE ITS EVOLUTION

Bazin is a fabric that lives and evolves with your interior. To care for it, the golden rule is gentleness: wash at a maximum of 30°C (delicate cycle or hand wash) with liquid detergent, and never tumble dry.

Over time, its shine and texture will change, offering you two aesthetic paths :

The “Natural Patina” option (Linen spirit) : With repeated washing, the starch gradually fades. The fabric becomes more matte, softer and more supple, while retaining the beauty of its damask relief. This is the ideal choice for a cosy, cocooning feel.

The “Palace Shine” option (Satin spirit) : Would you like to preserve the structured look and glazed shine of the first days? It’s absolutely possible. Simply re-starch the fabric lightly (with a classic starch spray) when ironing. The heat of the iron reactivates the fibre, restoring its crispness and imperial hold.
